So I built my first AR and now I need some guidance. Not only is this my first AR it is pretty much my first gun. I know cleaning and lubing are important but I dont know how to do it. Or where to lube or where not to lube etc. I havent even fired this rifle yet because I want to be educated first. Are there any step by step guides that will help me? I also need to know how to zero my sights (Troy flip rear and front a frame)
Thanks in advance for all help.
Jimmy

Here's a couple of tips to keep you out of trouble.

1. Don't attempt to clean out the gas tube. There's no need and you shouldn't be sticking things in there... And,

2. You can hear the spring in the buffer tube when you fire the rifle. This is perfectly normal. Don't take foolish steps to try to quiet this.

and....Keep the bolt, and Bolt Carrier Group well lubed. It has been proven time and again that the AR likes it "Hot and Wet"!

Go to Armalite.com, enter the Library, and read the Technical Notes. There is a wealth of information contained therein.
