In the $400 price range, I'm thinking Aimpoint PRO for a dedicated 1x, but then again, I wonder if that same amount of money might be better spent on a 1-4x Burris MTAC.
From what I've read, I believe the PRO is going to be much more rugged and universally liked, but I wonder if the MTAC can do what the PRO does reasonably well while also providing the extra magnification and precision for longer shots. I realize that the 1-4x MTAC will not be quite as rugged or as high-quality as the 1x PRO, but:
1.) is the MTAC reasonably rugged enough for a typical LEO application?
2.) in 1x mode, does the MTAC function almost reasonably as well as the PRO?
I would love to hear thoughts from guys who've used both. . . but even if you've only used one or the other, I want your input.
