The upper weights exactly 3 Pounds as pictured WITHOUT and Bolt Carrier Group or Charging Handle. This thing is wicked fast target to target and easy to carry. It’s hardly even broken in as you can see from the photos of the inside of the receiver. Never had a single failure to run. I have shot it in one 3-Gun match and used it to teach three carbine classes. It’s been well taken care of and is in excellent condition. Now that I have my Form 1 in hand I’ll be using my SBR to replace this upper.
Here's the break down on the parts and the initial cost. In the past year I’ve built about 25 uppers including this one. All of them have run great.
$80 BCM Demo/Scratches Upper Receiver - Totally Mil-Spec and within tolerance in every way, but they are sold at a discount because the upper rail has some scratches in it. I’ve used Aluma Black to color in the scratches and they are almost totally invisible.

$677 - Total investment. Approx 600 rounds fired. I would expect nothing less than 20k rounds to run through this upper without any issues. There is some paint transfer that will likely rub off on the bottom of the hand guard from placing it on a painted barricade, but it's otherwise super clean. I have made hits on 10" steel targets with this gun and a RED DOT at 250 yards.
