Need some input from 6004 users....

As do many, I prefer my holster to ride up high on the leg/hip. I have modded the leg panel on mine accodingly. I also have heard good things about the HSGI UDP. Whats your preference, just using the standard panel modded to ride high, or the UDP?

I've used both and prefer the shroud that comes on the 6004. Modify it to where it only uses one strap (bottom strap) and just low enough to clear the armor in any position.

Me and Mr. Dremel already did that. I'm actually happy with the results. Mainly just wondering if there are any downsides to the UDP setup as I was thinking of setting one up as an alternate rig.

I have the old one sans the shroud... And I also prefer it adjusted so it rides higher...

I have both and the 6005 I have actually rides higher than the UDP, but I like them both.

I'm becoming partial to the Eagle leg Platform for the 6004 or the Eagle/G-Code RTI Platform. Rides nice and high and is built solid.

Eagle has a platform for the 6004?

You are SO behind the times! :D

I'm not sure of availability, but it is a sweet platform. The RTI system from G-Code only enhances it, especially if you run multiple pistol platforms. In less than 10 seconds I switch from my 6004 for my 1911 to my SOC for my Glock. The RTI wheel does push the holster out about another 1/4", however. The other cool thing is you can get RTI Belt Slides and MOLLE Adapters so you can move the pistol from leg, to chest to belt VERY quickly. You can also move the holster to a mount in your vehicle or nightstand without having to unholster the weapon. Truly an innovative system.

I've got some nice pics of the system, but have not had a chance to do a write up, yet. I'll try to get that done this weekend.

I have been waiting for over 6 months for the leg shrouds I ordered from Eagle. I would be interested in any info o pics from anyone who has one. I am the worst for waiting and this backlog may cure me. At least I'll be surprised when the big brown truck delivers the Eagle goodness!

You know, we should get DP to approach Safariland on making the shroud right from the factory.

They have the 6005 which rides high. I mounted my M&P holster to one.

Shouldn't there be a tacked thread on the 6004 mod for reference?

(nevermind.. i see the link in the other thigh holster thread)

Dang, is there anything you don't have? I don't keep up with it all, so that's right from them like that?

Yes it comes that way our you can buy just the shroud too.

Actually 9x19 is going to use it for the Vickers class (it'll probably get a coat of Krylon, Hawkeye-style). I'll very likely be shooting a Glock 17 with my Hack-Fu Gunwerkes mod'd 6004.

I don't see the M&P models on their site.

Are they making the one for the M&P yet? (What about the compacts?)

Look very closely at my pic, not enough to make you dizzy. ;) That is a M&P9 holster.

I 'acquired' the 6005 shroud. I bought the holster for the M&P and assembled it on the shroud.

Safariland lists the single thigh strap shroud as 6005-10. Also I think quick release leg strap assembly 6005-11 can replace the one piece leg strap on existing 6004 shrouds per PDF -on line catalogue. Making a 6004 a 6005 ? I will be contacting Safariland to confirm as this is what I want to do to my holster .
