Is this Trijicon worth the hard earn money?

I have been thinking about my next AR build, which is going to be a 6.5G.Just wanted to know is this model Trijicon worth it? There was a guy in the recent Vickers/Hackathorn class running that setup - LAV did not seem to think too highly of it considering how it affected the shooter's performance.

Personally, I think the trijicon Acogs are well worth the money. They are great scopes. The real question should be: does that model or any model Acog provide you with the features your application requires. Based on the information provided in your original post, I cannot answer that question.

I can say that the Acog will not be the best choice in all applications. It sounds like from the initial description of your rifle that you may be better off with an optic that offers more magnification in order to take advantage of your rifle's long range capability.

A description of your new project is NEVER a good indicator of what optic is best suited for your needs.

How you will use the gun (ie. 75% of shooting will be done at 300 - 600 yards, 20% at 100 - 300 yards, and 5% at 0 - 100 yards) would help other members point you in the right direction.

The optic I would choose for 75% at CQB distances / 25% at 100 - 500 yards would be drastically different from the optic I would choose for 75% at 100 - 500 yards / 25% CQB distances.


When it comes to optics there are a lot of options on the market. Each optic fills a certain "niche" and each option has it's own set of pro's and con's. The optic I use at work kicking in door is far different from what I use in run and gun competition (majority of targets at 100 - 425 yards).
