Trading a Gen3 G19 for a Savage 110BA in 338LM

Apparently my buddy didn't want to listen about getting some lessons and spending more than $80 on his optic.

Shooting soup cans at 200 yards with my ACOG and 12.5" barreled AR15 while its rested on a shooting bag - he couldn't get a headshot on a sillouhette target at 100 yards. Got angry, and I did the swap right there.

My problem? I don't reload and I can't afford the $5 a pop ammo. Not to mention I'm not trying to spend the $1500+ that needs to be spent on an optic Should I sell it or hold on to it or what?

I wouldn't have done the trade personally. He made his bed, now let him lay in it. I would have made him sell it himself or put the money into it to fix it up.

I'd have GLADLY relieved him of that rifle for basically $500. Friend or not, if you are determined to be stupid, I'll happily profit from it if it makes you happy.

I personally couldn't afford to outfit or shoot that rifle, so I'd sell it. But, that's just me.

I'd sell it, that gun deserves a damn nice optic. Good trade!!!! I've yet to pull off one that lopsidedly impressive.

Sell it and get a new toy, the 338 is not just a caliber to go out and toy with. Its definately one that takes some consideration and serious thought before dropping the coin.

l agree with the others sell it. Unless your shooting really far out it or need it for hunting, it doesnt give you much benefit and even then its so expensive it kinda takes the fun out of it.

Volume spike most likely - from everybody who saw the previous thread wanting to see it with aformentioned G19.

On the bright side, he has a more useful gun. I'd consider running a box of PPU .338 through it, THEN selling it. It's already used, that's cheap-ish ammo, and you can do what you please with that scope.
