City Council Approves Mandatory Condom Law For Adult Film Stars (http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/01/17/city-council-to-vote-on-mandatory-condom-use-for-adult-film-stars/)

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Los Angeles City Council approved a new law Tuesday that will require adult film stars to use condoms.

But it is still ok to go to a gay biker bar and have unprotected sex in the bathroom wit a stranger.

ummm.... explain this to me please because I am completely ****in lost

2 people have agreed to engage in sex, a company has agreed to pay them to do so on film... both parties have agreed to not use a condom.... where does the government factor in there?

oooohhh so I get it.... so when little kids watch it... it sets the right example that when you let 6 guys tear your asshole up like paper shredder... you should make them wear condoms... I get it now... good idea

http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/images/smilies/Priceless.gif Precisely. Their little leftist minds are so warped and confused that they think this is a GOOD idea and is doing something positive when all it's really doing is regulating yet another item that they have no business regulating.

You guys shouldn't be watching porn anyway.

There's much more wholesome stuff to watch out there. :jester:

Porn just leads to harder drugs like meth and cocaine.

Popular Porn Actor Dies After Struggle With LAPD Officers (http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/04/14/porn-actor-dies-after-struggle-with-lapd-officers/)

Cops kill more porn stars than AIDS does.

Just trying to think of how this works...

What is the wording of the law? You can't produce porn that doesn't use condoms? Can't sell porn with out the use of condoms?

If you can't produce porn with out the use of condoms, are you breaking the law if you film you and the Mrs in bed?

If you can't sell porn without the use of condoms, does that mean they have to ship out all the current porn from town?

Is this just going to drive the things towards more 'amatuer' movies?

What about web cams? You aren't recording it, but are broadcasting it- and someone else records it- who is breaking the law?

Yeah but it only applies within the city limits. Most of the porn is filmed in the surrounding municipalities. Until the county mimics the law it will be pretty much useless. Even if the county does pass a similar ordinance, well there are other places within the lower 48 to make it. Just another example of government regulations moving jobs away.

They are not likely going anywhere. There are 58 Counties in California, and even if the proposed law for the condom use requirement passes for the entire County of Los Angeles, then the porn industry production will just move to other areas such as Orange and San Bernardino counties.

It's no wonder that many types of filming are moving away from LA, to other places like Canada. The civic leaders of Los Angeles have made some unintelligent decisions in a variety of areas. The loss of film-permits and associated revenue for filming in general is already on a steep decline.

Another genius move.

I believe the sheer exponential increase in aesthetically pleasing females, coupled with the numerically higher potential for obtaining a part in said business ventures... warrants an "AWESOME"

I believe its simple thermodynamics.... add an outside catalyst in the form of shit hot women to a populous primarily consisting of pregnant illegal aliens and leather'd old bar wenches... apply heat... and you will instantaneously observe an output of production, greater than that initially applied.

Basically Newtons 4th law.....

HOT WOMEN^2 + ANY MALE POPULOUS== Δ OUTPUT %
AMOUNT OF CURRENT WOMEN ABOVE A 6

Q: At what point did this thread fail to meet the quality standards of this site?

A: Individual opinions vary. You probably don't want to know mine, but if the development of this topic doesn't show some significant improvement, it is going to die a quick and unceremonious death.

We've been dealing with more than our share of garbage on the boards lately, and I'm not looking forward to seeing who a thread like this one is going to bring out of the woodwork. If the point is to protest against invasive and/or ironic government regulation, then please stay on that point. If the point is to wander off into an unnecessary exploration of all-things-coitus, this isn't really the place. I suspect that most of us are already fairly familiar with the mechanics.

A little class, if you please.

My little old town got a porn store about 10 years ago. They are currently the largest tax payer in the county aside from oil companies of course. They make on average, about 5.6million in sales every year.

People went bat shit crazy when they first tried to come into town. They were photographing customers and their cars, trying to get the local paper to publish them and protesting the store. Funny part was, 95% of the plates outside the store were from neighboring Utah. People would come up for what we call the Trifecta. Better beer (Utah limits domestic beer alcohol by volume), fireworks and porn! TRIFECTA! We get money from neighboring states that goes into the county tax fund and people still get to get all assed up over a cause that will ultimately end fruitless, yet they send their kids to the schools that were paid for, in part, by porn money.

Just like any other vise... if you don't like it, don't buy it! In a state that is going bankrupt (Ca), I just don't see why they'd want to cripple an industry that makes a metric shit ton of money.

I could not possibly agree with you more. I'm a man with hormones like everyone else, but this ain't the place to be talking about "fisting", which I personally would like to believe no human would do to another.

And to those that say "If you don't like it move on", well that's fine but it doesn't erase the overall impact on the site.

Exactly. Kalifornia does lots of things that don't make sense which is why they're so far in the hole. Sounds like you haven't experienced the end of days with pr0n in your city so I don't know why people are so revved up about it. I don't drink much and I don't smoke or chew tobacco but I don't spend every waking moment trying to drive it out of town. Doesn't bother me so do what you want. I wish more people had this philosophy.

My immediate thoughts on reading this thread were about the seeming explosion of burdensome regulations and the number of laws passed in the last 30 years that carry criminal charges, some of which are even felonies, when they should be covered by civil penalties only.

I seriously shudder to think of the sheer volume of repressive laws we'll have in the next two to three decades. I view one of the major problems as a matter of perception. When the **** did we transition from politicians being representatives to "lawmakers"? If there were politicians that would run on the platform that they'd swear to never make a new law, instead spending all their time devoted to repealing this mass of shit we've been saddled with, I'd vote for them every time. I'd contribute to their campaigns, man the phones, hand out fliers and hold signs.

Enough is enough already!
