Aimpoint Micro mounting options [Archive]

I need to pick up a Aimpoint T1 or H1.
I can get one right now with an Aimpoint mount, but I know nothing about that mount.

Anyone have any experience with them?

The optic is going on my Benelli M4 so it wont be coming on and off.

Just stick with the factory mount for the M4.

Having had an Aimpoint on my M4, I took it off. While it allowed me to do some crazy chit with slugs at long distances, it was slower at room clearing distances with 00.

Really!!?!?!? wow, I wouldn't have expected that. Can you elaborate how it slowed you down?

With the shotgun, I put the sights in the general location of the threat and pull the trigger. The dot makes me overly precise (when it generally isn't needed).
