What is the difference between the Dr. Optic, and the new Trijicon Dr. Optic?

Is the new triji/dr made of alum too? v the older polymer one

The Trijicon red dot has a polymer body. The Dr has a Alum. body. If they have changed them for 2008, I have not seen them.

I had a chance to T&E the german reticle during deer season this past year,... very nice typical Trijicon quality

Is it just a standard German #4 reticle with the lighted dot in the center?

Grant,

Do you know if they are going to offer the new TR21 German reticle with a Red dot as well as an Amber?

ETA: Do you know the size of the dot?

Thanks,

-Chase

Good question. In my price sheet, they do not show that option (doesn't mean it isn't available though).

No, I don't know what the size of the dot is (sorry).

Man, I finally broke down and got a TR-21R Accupoint right before Christmas and now they finally upgrade it. I knew I should have waiting for the SHOT show to see if a new model came out. I actually didn't get one for so long because of the rumors of an upgrade. Oh well, I absolutely love the one I got. It will give me another excuse to build another rifle.

Here I've been really wanting to consider the TR21, but just couldn't rationalize getting the reticle they have on there now. A new reticle design would put it back into consideration.

Anyone know what Trijicon charges to update the tritium on Accupoints?

Good question. I think it is $100-$200. If you get an obscene number, let me know and I might be able to get better pricing as a Master Distr. for them.

I just saw the new 6x48 ACOG. Really nice looking.

It doesn't have the usual piece of licorice up on top of the optic but rather an Accupoint style band around the rear eyepiece.

It has a built in cover on the rear that you can close to remove the light gathering power of the fiber optic. Supposedly the Accupoints had this but I had never seen or handled one personally.
