Managed to finish middle of the pack at 24 out of 52 in open. My Saiga helped by giving me a 6th place finish on the all shotgun stage.

I had a great time. The stages were drag race run and gun style for the most part and that is what I like in a match.

when you are running your ar at the close ranges what do you have your zero set at? 25/300?

I was running two types of ammo. A 77 grain load with a 235 yard zero for long range and a 52 grain load with a 100 yard zero for short range with the Swarovski scope. With the off set Red dot (Aimpoint R1 painted black) I have it zeroed at 25 yards.) On most of these stages however zero preferance did not matter at all as the targets were large and usually close. Only on stage 12 was true rifle marksmanship challenged. The two loads worked out that way so I did not have to dial the scope at all. The match was in Liberty Hill Texas.

Yep a .18 cent part failed me. I talked to Rob and R&R and found he now uses 2 C clips on the hammer and trigger pins. I am going to do the same. But it more than made up for it on stage 6 where it gave me a lot of stage points by finishing 6th in my division. I also learned to keep the ammo cool. The slugs were malfunctioning because the plastic was hot and deforming something I have never had an issue with in Alaska (Duh I know) anyway next year I am going to keep my shotgun ammo in a cooler with ice.

Nicely done Team Stag. I was squadded with Kalani last year. He is one smooth shooter!!!

One question, the rules stated that no more than 9 rounds in the shotgun at the start of a stage (tac and limited) did it not matter after the start if more rounds were in the gun? Didn't know if USPSA had changed the rules or if it was just TX Multigun.

Most outlaw matches with the exception of Blue Ridge allow you to load all you want after the buzzer. USPSA still has the no more than 8 in the tube rule. I hope they do away with the rule at the next board meeting this summer.

I am going to run the same rules as the Texas multigun (IMGA) at my match. I can see the value and while I used to think it did not stress accuracy as much if you miss the penalties kill you so accuracy is there. The Kenai club is also going to do time plus scoring for their match. I agree that standardization is going to be a good thing for everyone. I learned a lot at this match. Not just as a shooter but some cool ways to run a match as a match director and stage designer.

Pretty cool stuff. My classmate was there competing. I'm not sure if it was by himself or with a team. He's on our departments shooting team.

I can't believe we didn't have a M4C rally point while we were all there:mad:

I am down in goergetown visiting the in-laws and just realized that liberty hill BOTW range is only like twenty minutes away. I happen to have brought my carbine with me to shoot some hogs so I think I'll check this place out.
Anyone want to meetup on Thursday?
