View Full Version : To purchase or not to purchase
That is the question.
My girlfriends dad is willing to sell me a 92FS that has some holster wear.........for 300. Trying to decide how bad do I want it.
I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
92s are damn good guns in the grand scheme of things anyway, $300 just makes it better!

Does it fire?
If it does, why not buy it at that price!?!?!?
I've never been a big fan of the M9, but for $300 I'd buy it for nostalgia's sake if nothing else.

My only question would be how bad is the finish wear? You can get a brand new one for $499.00 plus shipping so if new is important then that's your benchmark.
Got any pics?
Hell yes! I traded a glock for my 92FS, It is a beautiful and very well made piece of art, it is a joy to shoot and has a track record like few other pistols.
If you don't, give your dad my number. I sure as hell will buy it for $300.
buy it,the 92 is a great pistol
I'd buy it for $400 let alone $300!! $300 is an impeccable deal on such a quality piece.
Buy it. But my advice, don't even think of flipping it for a profit. ;)
This is a "gun enthusiast" website. I think the response will always lean towards buying the gun. ;)
Seriously though, my partner bought his 92FS for $500 and he's had a very good experience. For $300, it's a sweet deal.
I am not a fan of the M9/M92F...
but BUY IT. It's a good pistol, plenty accurate, just use good mags with it, and enjoy!
Heck I paid $300 for its grandfather, a Walther P1, so yeah buy it. :p

buy it!
Buy it, if you don't like it turn around and sell it for $400
If your GF's dad was in San Antonio, I'd jump on it. I regret selling my 92FS.
Alright Im gonna do it. Ill post pics when I get it.

Well, the M9 has widgets. Widgets on the SLIDE. Widgets on the slide that work opposite what God and John Moses Browning intended.
But at $300, I'd still snap it up.

You made the correct decision IMO. Congrats on a great deal.
Look forward to the pics.
The backwards safety is easy to learn, BTW. ;)
Here it is. Barrel could use a refinish and it has some holster wear, but I think that adds character.

yes character:D I would recommend putting a new recoil spring and trigger return spring in it, with not knowing the round count. Lube it up and have fun!

For $300.00 the 92 would be mine yesterday.
solid deal buddy. Take it out and heat it up! A deal like that is a sweet deal. I'd take it as an opportunity to push it to the limits, then when the dust settles, learn the 92 system. Clean it up, get it back into shape, and sell it. Or keep it, cause some day you may really cherish the guy who sold it to you.

I don't even like those guns but would totally jump on that deal!
