I have a surefire az2 that I want to mount. The diameter of the handle is about .85". I'm pretty sure the VTAC mount will work, but are there any other decent mounts out there that will hold it?:confused:

I've never seen a mount right at .85". I'm looking at opening up either a Vltor or an Impact Weapon. Both are in the .830" range. The Nitecore EX11.2 I'm interested in is also .85". Hopefully opening them .020" won't be an ordeal.

I was thinking, maybe a better solution would be shimming the light up to 1" using 1 or 2 layers of shrink tube, you only have to gap .015" or slightly more. Put it right where you need and no more.
