Maybe it's because it should be so blatantly obvious what you're supposed to do, but my C4 came with no paperwork on how to install it at all. Just the rail and the screws. Was it supposed to have some? I think I can figure it out and I've watched one youtube vid of someone doing it but I thought it was weird.

I love the crap out of the rail btw. Very light, looks awesome, and the edges of the individual rails seem to be rounded off a bit. I dont have a lot of experience with rail systems but most of the other ones I've handled have somewhat sharp edges. I'm wondering if I even need to get ladder covers for it!

Pretty simple. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL12MQGQrPc If this is the YouTube you watched it went exactly as one I helped a buddy with last week.

You will want some ladder covers. I got my C4 rail and installed it, don't remove the FSB to remove the hand guard caps if you can avoid it. If you do, make sure to knock the pins in all the way. The hand guard is awesome. I am very happy with mine as well. It does not come with instructions.

Please take my advice. Use a Dremel and cut the slip ring and spring away. Clean it up and install the rail.

Do not remove the FSB.

Seems like a cool lady to hang with.

She does. My wife is a great lady, but she wouldn't be too interested in working on firearms like that young lady in the video. Anyway Iraqgunz is totally correct. Cutting off everything rather than remove the FSB would have been a better idea in retrospect. Wrapping the upper in shrink wrap and a good layer of duct tape around the upper just behind the barrel nut goes a long way towards protecting the finish and possible dremel slips.

Just so I understand. Cut away the delta ring and the springs. Are you saying to cut the handguard cap also or just leave it under the rail? Sorry for my confusion.

Agreed, there is no need to remove the FSB.

Cut the handguard cap, no need to pull the FSB.

Look at this as a great opportunity to invest in a Dremel. Very easy to get rid of the cap with the FSB intact.

As others have said, you'll want to cut the delta ring, spring, and handguard retainer. Just be careful when you do it and take your time. No need to rush it.

I DID remove my FSB, but that's only because I cut it down to fit under the rail (mine's a 12"). I think you'll be really happy with the rail. I love mine.

I used tin snips to cut the front retainer piece off. Dremel for the delta ring and spring.

I removed the FSB. Don't do it. Its a pain in the rear to get off, and a pain to get back on properly. It can be done, but it sucks. I used a dremel on the delta ring and springs. That was pretty easy. Just take your time.

Got the pics. First a couple concerns..

The rear screw hole must have been dropped or something (I didnt do it). When I put the crew in there the first time, it would not even seat because the hole was slightly squared off. This isnt supposed to look like this is it? We used the round end of a properly fitted drill bit and bent it out just a little and the screw sat. I was glad I didnt have to send the whole rail back just for something that insignificant. Here's the rest!

Lock up is very tight and the whole thing looks awesome. I think the rifle actually feels lighter than before when I had my MOE with light mount and sling mount attached to it.

Nice, I love my C-4 rail. Sucks about the litttle ding, but you got it sorted out and obviously it won't cause you any problems with the rail. Plus now it should be less painful when you get your first ding or scratch from use.
