I'm still wondering how the story shakes out when all the facts settle in. All the liberal US outlets have been going on and on about how he allegedly refused help from the US, and changed his mind after-the-fact.

On the flip side, this guy has been giving interviews to the UK about how we simply abandoned him at the hospital after getting some press time to make us look favorable.

Oddly enough, on a vaguely related note, another Chinese dissident, Mao Yushi, was allowed to leave China to receive the Cato Institute's Milton Friedman Prize for Advancing Liberty for his work free-market economics. He too has criticized Communism and it's leaders and had his site shut down, as well as protests from loonies screaming for his death/incarceration. I doubt we'll hear anything about that on the mainstream liberal media circuit. Liberals can't stand Cato, the Koch brothers, or libertarians.
