View Full Version : any problems with AAC 51-tooth mounts?

I tried the search and couldn't find anything on this but here's the thing.

I had heard somewhere(can't remember for the life of me where) that
the 51-tooth suppressor mounts were having problems with keeping
the suppressor tight. I'm caught between a surefire 556 can and a multi-use AAC SDN6.

I'm putting it on a DD Mk18 mostly, and I've shot the N6 on a Mk18 and it did well. I haven't unfortunately shot a Surefire.

Anyway am I totally crazy about this mount thing or are there legitimate
problems with some of them?

Also with the new 90-tooth mounts from AAC, how long before they won't be available?
whereas the surefires all use the same mounts.

I have used these extensively w/o issue.

Some complain that they wiggle too much when mounted...

The 51T is optimized for QD, Quick Detach. It seems to me, the tighter you have a mount up system the harder it is is to get off when dirty/carboned up.

Awesome! that's what I want to hear.

I have the 51T (flash hider/muzzle brake) on my 18" and 10.3" AR's and haven't experienced any wiggling. Its pretty solid when the suppressor is attached on properly.

As long as the 51T is installed properly, it should be rock solid.

I hope this helps :)
