I gave this a shot today on my G19 and made a little video showing how it's done. Should work fine on any pistol. Feels much better already.

Good vid man, that turned out pretty sweet.

It'll be interesting to see how well it holds up.

I don't expect it to hold up for more than a thousand or so rounds, but the cool part is that once you have the template all you've got to do is cut another one out from your sheet of deck tape and stick it on when the old one gets worn out. I've got enough deck tape to make ten or so for five bucks. I know of a similar product that is sold for 10 bucks per (one) pre-cut grip.

Nice job man! I've been considering doing the grip tape thing on my M&P since stippling would put me into the enhanced service pistol in IDPA. Let us know how it works for you.

For people who have done this, when you take the tape off later, how nasty (sticky) does it leave your grip? Is it easy to clean?

Using 3M Safety-Walk, I can peel off the tape and it leaves essentially no noticeable residue.

Rubbing alcohol will quickly remove any residue it leaves.

Found this product by goggle search a couple months ago. Works great. Was going to send out a FYI post to share the find but decided to search M4C first and found this tread.

I ordered the die cut settup for my Glock 23 from Brownells in the rubber texture instead of the old skateboard tape version. Wanted to work on some custom applications, so I tried to find the non-cut, by-the-sheet version of the product but not offered by the manufacturer.

Ordered 6 feet of the 6" wide 3M Safety Walk Grip Tape at $5.98 per foot. (a little extra to pass out to my shottin buds) Its made for wet areas where bare feet would be touching it so it gives the grip without leaving any DNA behind as you would if you used the old skateboard tape style.

This stuff works great. Rubbing Alcohol for surface prep, and it sticks nicely. Added some to slots in the forward edge of PMAG and happy with the results. A little 3/4 square piece added to the base plate of a Glock mag makes that good stiff seat better when your palm doesn't slid off as easy. Added a couple strips in the finger groves in the grip of my Glock 27 really improves grip (I have recently started using a clip-draw carrying in the small of the back so dont care to have any on the "skin" side of the grip:shout:).

Went thru some combat reloads and malfunction drills and cant see any problems.
If anyone has "been here - done this", feedback welcome.

Thanks All.

Looks like some good material. It seems like its the same stuff I have on my Ruger LCP. I have had it on for over 2 years with no problems.
