The 5.56 Winchester RA556B Bonded 64gr is back in stock at SGAmmo.

Its expensive, but its the only place I have seen it for sale to civilians.

Im not buying any as I dont have a need for such ammo, but since it seems its currently the #1 SD/HD round, I figured i'd give a heads up.

Hated to pay the $, but considering it is not for training, just HD, then the amount needed makes it worth it; for me.

Are you sure you're looking at the same ammunition?

We switched our duty ammo this year. Our new 5.56 duty rd is the RA556B load. Our state contract bid price is around $0.71 per round.

It's tough to find training ammo on the state contract for $0.29 per round.

Yes sir, RA556B $147.50 per case of 500. I ordered 6 cases 3 MAR 12 and received them about 2 weeks ago- drop shipped from Winchester. Federal XM193F was 127.75 per 500 on the PA contract.

Winchester will only sell my agency the 64 gr RA556B 5.56mm loading in 1,000 rd cases. This is a departure from the 200 rd cases their other duty rounds usually ship in.

Since it's such a new product for Winchester, it wasn't on the 2010 contract listing.

If you can get the FBI contract loading, 64 gr 5.56mm bonded round from Winchester in 500 rd cases, and at that price, I'd stock my agency up with it.

But I'd double check on those 500 rd cases.

I make some inquiries about individual officer purchases of this round. Some of my officers wanted to carry an extra magazine or two. With the current era of tight budgets, getting "hooked up" isn't as easy as it once was. The going price for non-agency purchase is around $1.50 per round.

I spoke on the phone with a representative for the company who handles the Florida State contract. Florida's state bid price the same as Ohio's for a 1,000 rd case.

Just saying...

We tested this round against other's when my agency was hosting ballistic workshops last November. The performance of this round was amazing.

At the State bid pricing, it's an excellent duty round. At the individual pricing of $1.50 per? I'd have to think about that if I has other options.

Great deal, except you bought a case of 200 or 1000 RA556B.
