Please forgive me ignorance but I can't figure out how to remove the rails. I've search "Googletube" with plenty of installing but not removing results.

Remove two screws on the side (anti-rotation), back off jam nut (towards rec.)and simply spin (rail towards th muzzle) that bad boy off (gently)...don't over think it

What brand of rifle is it? I ask because some makers feel the need to red loctite things that shouldn't be red loctited. So if it won't turn, you might apply a little heat to the barrel nut area of the handguards as you might be dealing with loctite. And those jam rings, they run about $20 if it snaps on you.

All of our BM carbines in Iraq were outfitted with those rails. They are the absolute worst. The nut is a crappy design and you will be lucky notto bust your knuckles with that wrench.

I found that almost all of ours had Rocksett or similar applied to them. So you may need to hit that area good with some penetrating oil or similar. Ultimately I ended up cutting away many of those locking rings just to be able to remove the barrel nut which is made from aluminum. If you put to much force on the nut, it will damage the holes.

I really like that rail, my cousin got one and after shooting his at range for while, I've really been thinking about the switch.

I failed to noticed the screw on the bottom of the rail. Once off I applied heat to the barrel nut area @ the rest was history. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.
