My new LMT CQB MRP is at my FFL waiting for my 7 day waiting period. I own several handguns but this is my very first long gun. Two weeks ago I wasn't even interested in getting an AR. Things changed rapidly last Saturday when a group of my friends and I went to another friend's land and shoot some guns. They had 4 ARs with them. I started reading about ARs that same night and ordered my own AR last Tuesday.

I am 55 years old and have not been in any kind of service before. I don't even know a lot of terms people use in here(MOE, SOPMOD....). My question is, when I take my new rifle to the range, are the sights setup from the factory? Or do I have to do the sight in process myself? I have never fiddled with any of the sights on any of my handguns before although some of them have adjustable sights.

You have to sight in the rifle on your own.

Every question you could ever ask about the platform has been answered here. Do a search for specific questions... there are some great threads here to teach you how to "sight in" your rifle. Nice first rifle by the way.

I am new to the AR world myself. I have used this site to build my knowledge of the platform. Like said already, you must zero(sight in) your own rifle, but it is fairly easy once you learn the proper way to do it.

Welcome to the board! And yes, that is one nice noob AR!!!

Thanks so much for the above link. It's simple enough that a person with no rifle and/or no military training can pick up.

your thread title leads one to believe LMT has a new set of iron sights in production...

I just got an email from my FFL that my AR is now ready to be picked up.

Do I print the zeroing target in an 8 x 11 or 11 x 17 paper?
