Finally got around to making an auto sear for the SCAR 16. :D

Very cool. Would you mind posting some photos detailing the autosear itself? Is it similar to an FNC autosear?

I won't go to deep into detail but here is the sear. The hammer had to be modified with an additional sear face, the safety selector was modified and the trip was added to the carrier. It's based off the MK16 sear set up.....

man the cyclic rate on that thing almost negates the point of even using it in f/a... reminds me of the UMP .45

I timed it like that (very conservative), I wanted a lower ROF on this one. I might play with the timing a bit, get it a little higher but for the most part I set it ip slow. Sounds/feels about the same as my AK with rate reducer....

A few things I noticed between the SCAR in full auto and the M16. The SCARs gas/piston system is MUCH more consistent than the DI system on my M16, I don't get the noticeable ROF fluctuations like the M16. Muzzle flip is basically non existent on the SCAR compared to the decent amount on the M16. And I'm VERY surprised at the amount of heat that the SCARs receiver retains (mostly around the barrel extension area). I normally have at least one or two suppressors in my range bag but didn't this trip, so I'll have to try it suppressed in full auto. I normally run a suppressor on this SCAR even though I don't really care for it suppressed (WAY to much action noise I'm my opinion) but the increase in cycle rate might help that....

Cool thanks for the pic and description. Sounds to be exactly what's involved in converting the FNC. And that sear does look very similar to the S&H FNC autosear.

Is this legit?

Yeah. SOTs can manufacture post sample machine guns. Totally legit. However it is not transferable to individuals.

Thanks for sharing 99HMC4

Wow, what's the process to becoming a SOT? I imagine there's countless background checks and taxes to be paid.

It's the government, give them enough money and you can pretty much do whatever you want.....
