A few days ago, we discovered that we had a rat problem. They were tunneling next to the foundation of our house, and a couple of our outbuildings. Gash (my wife) has been mixing up concoctions of various chemicals and setting them out for the little heathens. When ingested, their insides turn to concrete. This thought made me happy. I was glad that she was taking a pro-active approach instead of freaking out like most women would. I would expect nothing less. :)

I figured her methods would work, but I needed to take some blood. I strapped the night vision on my SBR AR22, loaded up the 25rnd magazines with CCI subsonic HP's, screwed on a suppressor, and headed for my hide just before the last light left the sky. I went with a harris bipod so I could sit instead of prone out. That gave me maximum field of fire, with quick and quiet target acquisition.

I wasn't in position for more than 5 minutes, and the hostiles began to appear in my AO. Just after that picture, I sent a 40gr HP through his chest. I'm not exactly sure what awaits him in the great beyond... but before the night is over, I'll be sending many of his relatives to ensure he isn't lonely. When the infrared illuminator is shined into the enemy eyes, they reflect brightly, making target identification very easy.

http://www.gregd.net/pics/guns/range_report/2012/IMG_6029.JPG

I decided I'd collect some of the easy to reach carcasses and present them for a photo op. Some of the enemy KIA were found drug back into their caves. It's widely known that these savages are cannibals.
http://www.gregd.net/pics/guns/range_report/2012/IMG_6034.JPG

No one was spared. Not even the children.

Contrary to popular belief, I actually had to lead them more! This smaller species of terrorist was very agile and didn't stay in position long. These bodies were the only ones I could find. When hit, the vast majority exploded beyond recovery. It is quite graphic, and brings that shit-eating grin to the surface every time. These enemy were difficult to engage, but I was able to get good kills out to a distance of 40yds. Beyond that, the limitation of my 3x night optic started to cause issues.
http://www.gregd.net/pics/guns/range_report/2012/IMG_6035.JPG

I estimate the enemy KIA at over 20, with at least 7 wounded.

I'm going to head back to the hide to continue restricting enemy movement.

They will not soon forget this night.

Except I'm much lazier and shot from a couch through an open window.:lazy2: I didn't have a window where I could see the little buggers. Later on, I went down to our trash pit and sat in my truck with the window down. That was pretty comfortable. :)

We'll see how it goes tonight. I am going to put a table out with a nice comfy chair.

I mounted a bushnell 4200 tactical 3-12 FFP in front of the night vision today. I got it zeroed in and ready for tonight. Dead on at 25yds, dead on at 40yds, up 1.5 mils for 10yds.

They are in big trouble now.

By far the best Continuing Action Report of 2012. Not because of the gear, though it does contribute to the success of the mission. It's because of teamwork, mindset, and tactics. Having a chemical warfare specialist and spotter named "Gash" contributes to all around mission morale! You are one badass team.

I have only one suggestion. Have "Gash" decapitate the enemy dead and mount them on sticks around the perimeter outside the wire. Those bastards will get the message! Please keep a running count on the KIAs. We look forward to further reports. I salute you.

You call your wife 'Gash'? Indeed I do. :) She resisted at first... now she sometimes refers to herself as gash in the 3rd person. ;)

In fact, it was she who authorized leave from my post last night. She felt the enemy should be allowed an undisturbed night to consume copious amounts of her special concoction. Now that I'm rested, Operation Bright Eyes will continue tonight!

Night 3

Tonight began as any other night. I was in my hide, ready for the enemy to emerge and be engaged. To my great dismay, I stayed in position with my eye glued to the GenIII night optic for a solid hour with zero enemy activity in my AO. Neither of the predominant species of enemy was moving tonight. There are two factors that may have led to this shift in behavior.

1) The temperatures dipped down to 40 degrees tonight.
2) The overcast that had blackened the night was gone, and a bright moon shined.

I thought it possible that the enemy may have learned of my ambush site from previous night's encounters, but dismissed this as they were unmolested last night. It is entirely possible that the enemy moves less when it is cold and bright. This saddened me, as the cool crisp air kept the usual swarm of mosquito's at bay, and the moonlight gave the night vision a boost in clarity.

I returned to the HQ to consult with my chemical officer. She informed me of the location of the chemical agent dispensing locations so I could recon any activity there. I then inquired as to whether any chemical warfare had taken place behind the enemy lines. Indeed there had not been any chemical campaign in their AO. This was all the intelligence I needed to gather to form an new mission plan.

During previous nights, my chemical officer and I had witnessed multiple enemy recon soldiers crossing the yard about 75yds from our HQ. On my last mission, I set an ambush for them and was very successful. We saw 8 enemy cross, and I had confirmed KIA on 6 with another wounded, and several of their smaller support troops KIA as well. This could also explain the lack of movement close to our HQ tonight.

It is on this basis that we believe to have discovered the enemy base of operations. About 175yds from our HQ, there is a pit where friendly forces throw trash. All enemy movements seem to be centered around this pit.

Having identified the enemy HQ, and having virtually eliminated enemy movement in our AO, I received clearance to engage the enemy on their home turf. Prior to tonight, my engagements have been strictly relegated to ambush tactics at controlled ranges. This new mission would require a change of tactics and gear. I stopped in the ready room and started gathering supplies. First, I loaded up 4 more black dog machine magazines with 25rnds of CCI Subsonic HP's each. I grabbed a plate carrier and stuffed them in the mag pouches. I disconnected the harris bipod and laid it on the bench. Light and fast was the name of the game tonight! Since I was going to be behind enemy lines so far from my HQ, I grabbed my Elzetta ZFL-M60 and stuffed it in a cargo pocket. In case things got hairy, I had my backup irons on the rifle and 230 lumens of blind-your-face ready to go.

Stepping back out of the house into the cool air, I could almost smell the victory. I racked the slide, sending the first 40gr HP into the chamber. I could almost feel the bullet forming a smiley face in the barrel. We both knew what was coming. I had killed so many of the enemy, they refused to leave their stronghold. It mattered not. I was coming, and death was coming with me.

As I approached, I was glad to feel the grass was wet with dew. This made my movement as silent as a church mouse. I began to hear the enemy moving about, blissfully unaware of my presence. I crept closer, and closer, keeping the cool night breeze in my face. It is well known that the enemy have an keen sense of smell. I stayed down wind of them to ensure they remained calmly engaged in their nocturnal activities.

I knew that when the first shot was fired, they would either attack, or run like cowards. Which ever way it was going to go, I was going to kill as many of them as I could, as fast as I could. I went into a low crouch as I crept closer. Only 10yds away now, I slowly raised my rifle and set the focus on the night vision. The typical engagement distance was going to be between 3yds and 10yds, so I knew I would have to focus quickly between multiple targets. I supported the weight of the rifle with 3 fingers on my left hand, while running the focus knob with the other two. With my right hand, I rode the safety into the "fire" position as to ensure the enemy would not be alerted by the tell-tale *click* of an ar15 going hot.

It is time.

I slowly rose to the standing position with my rifle at the ready and the night optic glued to my eye. I saw as many as 10 enemy foot soldiers patrolling their HQ. Our intel was spot on. This was the largest single concentration of enemy I had seen to date. There was a high-ranking terrorist sitting on a 2x4 not 10 feet from me. I decided he was going first in hopes that they would be confused without leadership. I then selectively chose subsequent targets based on their apparent distance from cover or concealment. I slowly worked out my pattern of fire over a 5-minute period, moving the rifle slowly from enemy to enemy. They were completely unaware that in just a few short seconds, their lives were going to change forever. The 3x magnification of the night optic, inherent focus issues, and the scopes high height over the bore were going to make this difficult, but I had come this far. There was no turning back now.

I located the contact target. He was still perched high above the trash pile on his 2x4. He appeared to be eating chow. I paused for a minute, and wondered how I would like getting shot while eating... but quickly moved past it. You chose your side you little bastard. You have had a meeting with God since that time, and I'm here to see that you aren't late. I centered the crosshair on the enemy officer's chest, and then elevated them slightly to accommodate the scopes height over the bore. The lack of a mil reticle again makes this more of an instinctual affair than anything. Luckily, I've always had good instincts when it comes to shooting.

As my crosshair hovered over the officer, I began to put pressure on the CMC trigger. I had about 2.9lbs of the 3lb trigger on my finger... and just then.

I GOT TONE

*BLIP*

The sharp slap of the action as a spent casing was spit out the side of the ejection port, followed immediately by the hollow *thup* of the 40gr subsonic hollow point finding its mark. The bullet impacted the enemy officer's chest as centered as if someone cross-sectioned him, tearing him off the 2x4. I didn't even wait for his body to hit the trash pile below. I immediately shifted to the next target.

... and *BLIP*, shift, *BLIP* *BLIP*, shift, *BLIP* *BLIP*

I moved from target, to target as they tried to run for cover, sending as many rounds as I could while performing the balancing act of optic focus and trigger control. The suppressor combined with subsonic ammo bought me precious seconds during the confusion in which to capitalize with lethal force. No one was spared. Man, woman, child, firm, or infirm. I was having flashbacks from Platoon, where Bunny says "lets do em man... lets do the whole village!" Killing was my business, and business was a boomin! Before I knew it, the hammer fell on an empty chamber. I quickly swapped magazines and scanned the enemy HQ for movement, but saw none.

The first contact engagement left 4 enemy KIA in plain sight, and I knew I had connected with several others. They ran like cowards. Not much good it did them. Some may have elected to move on from here. I however, have much experience with terrorists of this nature. I knew that if I remained motionless, and silent. More enemy would emerge. Five minutes had not passed, and the first brave soul emerged from the trash pile on the far side of the HQ. I observed him for a mere 20 seconds, when a second enemy joined his comrade. They aligned perfectly, one behind the other, and I knew I had an opportunity to perform the infamous one shot, two kills. I pulled the rifle in squarely and centered the crosshair on the closest enemy head and waited for the precise moment when the second enemy was squarely behind the first.

*BLIP* *THUMP*

I was greeted by a heavier impact than I usually hear, and the sight of two enemy KIA. One was missing his face, and doing the chicken dance. The other was on his back in death throes. I smiled.

I repeated the ambush in the enemy HQ for the next hour, taking an additional 7 enemy KIA, with no activity for the last half hour or so. The total number of enemy dead cannot be confirmed at this time. The enemy weren't exactly somewhere that I wanted to go to confirm them. Suffice it to say that their casualties were vast, and a clear concise message has been sent.

On my exfil, I happened upon an enemy air unit stationed in the rafters of my barn. Pigeons are known allies of the cave-dwelling enemy. He was declared hostile, and engaged from a distance of 35yds. He won't be providing air cover for our little vermin any longer.

In terms of body count, tonight's mission wasn't quite as successful as the first night. However, in terms of psychological damage, tonight was a massive success. They now know that they cannot feel safe anywhere they go.

The last remaining enemy will likely conceal themselves like cowards in the subterranean dwellings they call home. Tomorrow I will consult with my chemical officer and draw up a plan for the continued assault. In the mean time, our children may sleep soundly in their beds, knowing that their parents have delivered swift justice.

For my brothers in arms across the country. Stay your station, and just remember:

The complete elimination of the enemy, will ensure a lasting peace.

Team orkan, This is just too good! Each AAR you have submitted is triggering images of movies like "Enemy At The Gates", "Willard", "Sniper", "Tremors", and my favorite, "Caddyshack", all rolled into one epic saga of man against vermin. This could end up on the big screen with the right production team and a kickass director. Or maybe direct to video. At the very least, YouTube.

On another note. How are you and your chemical officer holding up? Are your logistics and supply lines open and intact? Enough food, water, ammo, batteries, fuel for backup generators, emergency comms, respirator cartridges, rabies vaccines, etc? Have you considered getting a backhoe for digging mass graves? Might be necessary if you're ratted out to the UN. Right now you are engaging at the tactical level. This can easily escalate to a protracted strategic engagement considering the gestation period of your enemy. They multiply like rabbits. Ah, rabbits, another target of opportunity!

Be prepared to go to Def-Con 1. Your enemy, actually, our enemy if you fail in your mission, is known for their vicious counter attacks. Remember the 300 Spartans, the Alamo, Custer at the Little Big Horn, Bastogne, Pork Chop Hill, Khe Sanh. Yes, this is going to get real ugly. Do you have a fallback position if you're overrun? Mt. Rushmore comes to mind. You might have to resort to strategic weapons as a last ditch effort to preserve the Great State of South Dakota. More on that later. Be ever vigilant and grant no mercy to those heathens. Remember, "Under God, the People Rule."

3 AE, I like where your head's at!!!

My fathers place, where I grew up, is only a mile away. If being over-run, reinforcements are but a phone call away. Upon making that phone call, he will in turn make another call, followed by other calls. Within 20 minutes, I could muster an additional 15 heavily trained marksmen to my location, each with their own equipment and unique skillset.

We have an independent water source, off the grid. The building that surrounds this well was under attack prior to the last several nights efforts. They have been pushed back far away from it now though.

My chemical officer is as resolute as I. Every day she surprises me with new unorthodox tactics. Just today she found a jar of expired peanut butter in the cupboard, which she promptly mixed with antifreeze and set out in a secluded and secure location outside our wire. The terrorist enemy and their co-conspirators are sure to find and consume the sweet tasting treat, and be visited by the grim reaper shortly thereafter.

There will be no mass graves. Their rotting bodies will be left on display as a lesson to the others.

The chemical officer and I did not perform our duty, and did not shoot enough rabbits several years ago. The resulting over-population was handled by mother nature in the way she always does. The rabbits in my AO have fallen prey to a plague that all but exterminated them several years ago. Now, it is extremely rare to see a rabbit. We have discussed the possibility of recruiting a geneticist to create a carnivorous rabbit that would find and consume the rat terrorists. Although this may create many more problems. What with people actually eating other peoples faces across America, we figure that we better not mess with such powers.

My main transport has been renamed the "RTPV" - Rat Terrorist Patrol Vehicle, and I will be using it tonight to gain an elevated position on the enemy HQ. It will also provide a quick exfil in the case of vast enemy reinforcements. With the enemy being short in stature, the 6" lift should be more than adequate to gain the required elevation. The 10-ply nitto tires have kevlar reinforced side-walls, which will resist any attack by tooth or claw.
http://www.gregd.net/pics/primalrights/IMG_1742.JPG

Inside our HQ, we have a vast arsenal of protection against the would-be-intruder, should the enemy be so bold. First line of defense, the chemical officer and I have benelli and remington shotguns loaded with #4 buckshot in several locations around the house. She carries at minimum, a 22 handgun in her diaper bag as well, and I always have an XDM 9mm compact in a crossbreed holster on me. Next in line is an 18lb cat, code-named "Bo" that has an insatiable appetite and the strength of 20 men. Behind him is the more agile 12lb feline, code-name "gizmo" whom is more agile than a puma, and has the crazy eyes that can cause an enemy to self-terminate. Next in line is my 2yr old daughter who is yet to receive a code name, but has an arsenal of nerf guns that can shake the very ground. My newest recruit is my son. He is 2 months old, and can meet the enemy on their own ground. Strangulation and projectile vomit are his chosen weapons.

Yes, I pity the fool that would enter our HQ with ill intentions. We are prepared to repel all boarders.

The next opportunity when the ground is wet from rain and the risk of collateral damage low... we will deploy special weapons to the enemy HQ in the form of home-made napalm. The enemy will burn, until there is no more enemy.

As God as my witness, let it be written, so shall it be done.

Depending on the time frame of the projected duration of the war, you might want to plan a procurement package for this product. Also, it wouldn't hurt to have a lobbyist or two in your pocket when going before a Congressional Budget committee to obtain funds for said project.

http://www.draganfly.com/industrial/products.php
http://www.draganfly.com/pdf/draganflyer-x6/price-lists/web-email/WEBNP-Draganflyer-X6-Config-Price-Sheets-ALL.pdf

Projected cost for procurement, commissioning, test flights, and additional operational expenses are in the $15000-$30000 range depending on the particular model that satisfies your operational needs. Your family is too valuable NOT to consider this proposal. Remember, "It's for the Children"!

Excellent AAR. Impressive tactics, astronomical kill ratio, no friendly KIA-success has been achieved. Effect on target is devastating in every case. It appears you've failed to win hearts and minds-but you have riddled them with bullets.

I trust you'll be running a course on covert rodent extermination operations in high-risk environments when you rotate back into the house? I'd be especially interested in a partnership with Costa Ludus on your techniques. You'd have a serious industry exclusive course right there.

I see Dodge is your choice of extermination truck. And what brand of jeans were you wearing when you did the shooting, as clearly they must have been pretty high-speed. You should get your own line of extermination apparel. That truck should be a standard trim level for Dodge from now on.

Can't comment on the OP's experience but my younguns could make center mass and head shots at about 1-1.5 meters, depending on whether they were being held, sitting independently, or in the back pack. Their standard load was Mott's Apple sauce or formula in the 20-45 minute digestion range, but their longest shot was breast milk at 1.75 meters. Effect on target: the target wasn't enemy, only a training exercise on a standard issue men's warehouse suit.

New intel confirms the enemy is moving in on two fronts. Analysis suggests England may only be a diversionary tactic. Strongly advise to continue to press home the attack in SoDak.
