I have an ar with the following "pre-ban combo" stock on it:
http://www.vltor.com/kit.htm

The kit is listed as having:
1 Standard Carbine Buffer 1 Carbine Action Spring

My question is this:
Do midlength gas systems require a heavier buffer/buffer spring?

Generally they'll work but it's a good idea to invest in a good H-buffer or possibly an H2. The heavier buffer will slow the cyclic rate of the gun thus increasing parts life. It also lessens the recoil impulse of the gun.
