i was wondering I live in FL the deer here are small not much more than 150 max.

with out hitting a vital zone and having to hunt for the deer.

I like to try to hit heart and have the bullet exit and come through the other side shoulder so it falls right there with my 223

If I shot a deer directly through both shoulder blades to take them away so it falls right there.

What do you think would do the best 40 or 45

I would check your state laws on handgun hunting first, in many states iirc you have to have a minimum 500 ft lbs of energy which not all 45 loads reach even with a 5" barrel. With the same barrel length the 40 will generaly meet 500 ft lbs.

Better check your state laws before choosing either.

Your post is incoherent. When you sober up try to form it into a complete thought.

If you absolutely must use an autoloading pistol for deer, make it a 10mm.

The 45 ACP has much more case volume and can be loaded to make 500 fps easier than the 40sw can. For example a 165 grain .40sw at 1100 fps is a good warm load and will give you 443 foot pounds while a +p 45 acp load with a 165 grain bullet at 1250 will give you 572 foot pounds. Neither are great hunting handgun choices but if I had to pick I would take the .45 acp with warm handloads in a gun that could handle it.

However you need to check your laws. My State has no such laws and I don't think they are common but you do need to know your states laws.
