Just wanted to report to the DD folks that there may have been some bolt catches that had some incipient damage out of factory. Or possessed an inclusion of some sort that may result in the paddle of the bolt catch shearing off.

To help isolate the lot or batch, the following bolt catch was from a DD Low Parts Kit purchased via MidwayUSA on February 12, 2012. Failure occurred immediately after install while performing a function check with a Magpul BAD. Rather than go through an RMA process, I just bite the bullet and ordered another bolt catch and some spares, but can send the bolt catch your way for failure mode analysis/fractographic analysis if need be. If interested, just shoot me a PM or provide an address below.
