Hello everyone.

I'm here, unfortunately, asking the worth of my Colt Le 6920 MP-B. I need to free up some money to fix my car. It's almost brand new with only 60 rounds fired through it.

So what's a good asking price?

Thanks

Clem

DSG Arms has this model new for $1055.
Maybe $900 would be a good start?

About 60-70% of what you paid for it.
You'll make more parting it out.

By doing upper, lower, bcg and ch? Or parting out more than that?

You may be surprised how close to retail you can sell a used gun! Depending on how much of a hurry you are in, of course.

What ever you feel like doing.
Look at the WTS ads on a couple of boards to get an idea of what things go for on the used market.

Grant was selling new complete 6920MP uppers for $550.
Colt lowers go for $500 new.

I was trying to sell a LMT upper including hand guards with 500 rounds through it for $450.
People kept asking me if the BCG and CH were included.
A complete LMT upper for $450? Unpossible!

Yea. Time is somewhat of a factor. Im thinking 800 is my bottom line plus FFL fee. That's almost 300 off a pretty much brand new gun. Plus a case and an extra pmag.

I would not be surprised if you can get $1000 for it. AR prices are creeping up. I would put it on gunbroker and set your reserve for maybe $950 and have a buy now for a bit over a $1000 let say 1025-1050. I bet you will sell it very quickly.

Never tried to sell in GB. Does it cost anything?

Handguards don't really mean much...and you can get a new LMT upper for $485, and that's full retail. I don't think they were entirely out of line......hopeful maybe, but not crazy. On the flip side, expecting to buy a very lightly used Colt for $720-840 (that 60-70% you were quoting) is a pipe dream too.

OP, you can get $1k out of it, easy. The little bit extra that you might make by parting it out will get eaten up by shipping costs. Quick guesstimate?

upper - $500
BCG - $140
lower - $500

Again, that's just ballparking it and not getting specific. You might get a little more, you might get a little less. I would sell it complete and start at $1100. I wouldn't go very much under $1k......before I did that, I'd wait for November.

I wish I had the time, but like I said I need my car to be fixed. I put it up here in the EE for 1k. Hopefully it'll get snagged.

Based on what I am seeing you should be able to get around 900.00-950.00.

An $800 Colt 6920? You'll sell it within 30 minutes. Hell, for $800 I'll take it right now and argue with my wife later.

I agree. I'm always checking the local ads and people are selling used Colt 6920s for $1100-1200 and people buy them!

I'd put it out there for $1000 and it should sell.

If I wasn't between jobs right now, I'd do the same

Put it up for $1k and it will sell, put it up for $900 and it will sell fast.

You will probably do better in your local classifieds (does your area have an online classifieds that everyone knows about? in Utah everyone users KSL.com).

And you can do it face to face (if your state allows) and save on shipping hassles etc. And if you want to play it safe, restrict sale to someone with your state's permit. (Let's not get in a discussion on this in this topic)

I'm in South Florida. Im not sure about a local classifieds around here. I'd MUCH rather do it face to face.

Yeah, I don't get that. You can find them new, online for south of $1000 or from a Walmart or dealer at $1100. Just goes to show that it's worth a try to list it locally for that and see if someone comes knocking.

Not the magpul version. Cheapest I've seen was 1050 new

True enough, but my point was that I'd tell you to list it higher on your local sites. It probably won't deter a determined/knowledgeable buyer from lobbing in a $900-1000 offer but you might surprise yourself with someone who hits your bid for whatever reason (sales tax/in-stock/FFL and shipping fee, etc.). You wouldn't be nuts to list on a local site for $1100 and see what surfaces if you have a week. You can always drop it after the 72hr bump or whatever.

A FTF deal can be worth $70 along in FFL/shipping alone depending on state - in SE PA lots of FFLs charge $40. Add in sales tax and that's a lot of friction on a $1000 deal. And people always forget about buyer's fees (USPS MO + tracking number for the payment shipping or Paypal fees).

Except no one has them in stock. DSG is $995 and hasn't had them for a bit. Even Grant lists them for $1050. $1087 @ Walmart isn't terrible.

Unless a bunch flood the market, I don't know if we'll see the cheap 6920's that were everywhere months ago.

Are LEOs exempt from the NY AWB?

Big supporter of the LE community, but I confess I have mixed feelings about LEO exemptions.

Haven't look at that, but as far as I know, If you are LEO you can have it as long as you don't live in NYC. Have a couple of coworkers they all have it. So i was looking into it. BTW how many inches? 16 ... 14.5 ...?

This thread went from asking about value to selling in the thread against the site rules.

If it's listed in the E&E section then post pics there.
