Guys can yall check how I am carry my g17 and see if I am missing something? I recently have started carrying my g17 in favor of my hk p7m8.

The g17 conceals best for me when I carry it appendix carry method. I have pieced together a belly band and trigger guard condom.

So here is a pic of the gear side bay side.

Trigger guard cover in place.

Gun and trigger guard inserted into belly band. I then clip the lanyard to my belt. As I draw the pistol the trigger guard cover pops off and the pistol is hot.

Do yall see any safety concerns with this carry method? Thanks for the help, I just want to make sure I am not missing anything here.

Most use the trigger guard holsters just by themselves.

Are you opposed to using an actual holster designed for aiwb carry?

That's an interesting setup, I normally carry my 17 appendix using a Raven Concealment VG2.

Looks complicated and busy for my taste. Trigger is covered so it should be ok if you're comfortable with the retention

Looking at their holster gave me the idea. I had originally planned to try carrying like this prior to ordering an arc angle holster.

However after carrying like this for a couple weeks I have decided I am kind of partial to this carry style, since the gun is independent of my belt in terms of weight distribution. That means it works well with gym shorts or what ever else I am wearing.

Are you just sticking your g17 in the raven holster in your pants band for retention?

Have you considered a SmartCarry or Thunderwear holster? It will do what yours does with far less spandex and no additional trigger guard. I'm not trying to knock your method. It just seems like that would get uncomfortable after awhile.

I'm definitely with you in regards to weight distribution.

More complicated than I go for, I use a simple belt clip IWB holster for appendix carry (usually a 19 or 26)...but if it works for you, then go for it.

Order a purpose built holster and abandon this silliness.
