The 4 I'm looking at right now are:

PIG Plate Carrier
http://www.skdtac.com/PIG-Plate-Carrier-p/pig.502.htm

BFG Lightweight Armor Carrier
http://www.blueforcegear.com/lightweight-modular-armor-carrier/

Tactical Tailor Fight Light Plate Carrier
http://www.tacticaltailor.com/fightlight/fight-light-plate-carrier

Mayflower Assault Plate Carrier
http://www.mayflower-rc.org/store/index.php?p=63

They all look like they could fit my needs, but I don't know anyone with those PCs. I'm looking for a light weight, high riding PC with molle so I can use it instead of a chest rig. I want it to be comfortable for long periods of time and enough space to mount a 3x M4 mag panel and a small admin pouch or two.

I've read good things about both the PIG and Mayflower PCs. I haven't read much on the BFG or TT PCs, but judging from their other gear, both seem to be good to go. I'm extremely impressed by BFG and TT's other products.

My only experience with armor is IBA and IOTV, IBA worn during pre-deployment training and IOTV worn during more pre-deployment training and every other day or so downrange (where I still am). I pretty much hate IOTV and would love something lighter weight to wear when I get back home for personal use.

Anyone have experience with the above PCs and have likes/dislikes/buyer's remorse?

I bought the Mayflower APC for the exact reasons you described and I really like it. I sits high, is comfortable, and it's lightweight. I chose it over some of the others due to its weight and its built in admin pockets top and bottom. It does't have any hose/cord routing loops but that's easily remedied with 550 cord or zip ties. I'm 6'0/195 lbs/athletic build and the S/M carrier with medium cummerbund fits me perfectly with room to spare in case I'm wearing bulky outerwear. Large ESAPI plates fit.

Have you looked at http://www.tyrtactical.com/ ? Not an endorsement but I have their BPC (no-cummerbund) and its awesome.

I was about to suggest the Pico or basic PC from Tyr as well.

To even further muddy the waters, the LBT 6094T would also be worth looking at.

All 6 of these make truly outstanding products, I have stuff from all of them and have used all of it downrange.

I have an Eagle PC... great piece of kit if you can find them.

I'm going to have to vote for the PIG, I have had both an LBT 6094A and a PIG this year and I am super happy with the PIG and ended up ditching the LBT. I am very small and there is an enormous amount of adjustability and modularity so I was able to get the PIG to fit me nice and snug, and it has built in kangaroo pouches so in addition to having a 3x BFG ten speed M4 pouch I also have the 2 kangaroo pouches built in depending how heavy I want to load up + I still have tons of room for mounting gear.

I couldn't describe my APC any better. Actually just finished another one day class with it about 30 minutes ago.

Nice lightweight piece of kit.

+3 for the PIG, but one of us is more than biased.

How are they allowed to wear it overseas? Or are they special?

Koshinn, you might be able to get permission from your CO. I hear you, though. The IOTV sucks! :cray:

I'd recommend looking into the LBT 6094 as others have said. The LMAC is nice, but I'm having trouble adjusting to the side plate holder thingies. I'm thinking of just ditching them and running the Ten Speed sides instead.

Ive got a PIG and love it, the PICO would be nice as well.

We are fairly special...... there is no flavor left on any windows on our base!!
- The unit commander can allow plate carriers, and things like Pmags (this helps with the vague TACOM statement recently).

How much does the PIG weigh without plates?

How about some of the other PCs in SKD's inventory? :D

Here's my take. And just so you know, I have the APC, so I may be biased, but I'll try to make this subjective. Also, just to give you an idea of where I'm coming from, and what "I" look for in a PC, here is a quick review I did of the APC (which was bought from SKD ;)) Quick Review: Mayflower APC (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=82984)

*You need to define what it is that YOU want in a PC before you can make this choice.

LMAC: I've seen too many guys fiddling around with the thing trying to get it "just right" for me to believe it is as simple as I would like it to be...design wise. I could be wrong though. I do like the "plate cushion" in concept though.

TT: Looks like a similar design to the LMAC, only slightly bulkier. Never seen it out in the wild though, so I can't provide any comments as to user feedback.

PIG: Great design, and never hear anything bad about it. You would do well going this route.

APC vs PIG: I see this as the point where you need to decide what you want out of the PC. Obviously, these two would be my top two suggestions.

If you want a slightly lighter and lower profile setup that can possibly be worn in a concealed fashion, or just for the aspect of being slightly more streamlined, and caveman simple, then the APC would probably be the ticket.

If you want the extra padding that the PIG provides, and don't mind the slight gain in bulk and weight, then I would go with the PIG. SKD has also done a pretty good job with adding bells and whistles that you can add on if you choose to (some of which will still work with the APC). The PIG would be your more overt option since it is slightly bulkier.

Just know that even with no padding, the APC has been very comfortable for me...but this probably has much more to do with the plates that you select than anything.

Hope that helps.
