They are all designated LE6920 now and have LE marked serial numbers. ( the SP sporter designation is gone) Nothing on the ejection port side. $1100 is about the going rate unless you can get one from DSG or GandR tactical online.

This is the roll mark for the "new" 6920.

Looking at the Colt website, it lists the barrel as 16.1 inch. Is that total, ie with the flash hider, or 16.1 without the flash hider?

Seems like more and more Walmarts are carrying the 6920 now so it couldn't hurt to call around if your preferred vendors are out of stock. Walmarts in my area have never even bothered carrying any 'tactical' rifles or even 5.56, now they all have the 6920 at $1095 and Tula (:bad:)

Very dependent on location. IIRC, an informal survey on TOS indicated NO Walmarts in VA have either the ammo cans of M855 or any AR's for sale. Members chimed in from about 20-30 different locations.

I'm just happy to see them carrying the 6920 for now. I wish ours would get the M855 cans in but I have a local shop that has more M855, M193, etc. than I can shake my credit card at (fingers crossed that it stays that way)

I bought my first 6920, a Sporter last fall from DSG. I just got an LE6920 from Grab-a-gun (referenced above) for $1076, shipped. Except for the rollmarks, they are identical.

Just a point of clarification, should the serial number start with "LE" ? I have a 6920 with the "M4 Carbine" roll mark and serial number starts with SP.

When did they start that roll mark? My LE6920 says "COLTS LAW ENFORCEMENT CARBINE.". My LE6920SOCOM says "M4A1 CARBINE.". Both are recent NIB acquisitions from LGS.

this is the direct replacement for the "sporter M4 carbine" marked 6920. Your LE marked one could be older stock, especially if it has the AWB markings on the ejection port side. Another indicator is the Colt marked Rogers Super Stock, all the brand new LE's are shipped with that.
