Looking for an AR

Hey guys, I'm in the market for an AR. I understand the "buy once, cry once" thing, but I'm also on a budget and I don't shoot a whole lot. I'm just going to plink, and maybe a little critter control, but I don't want trash either. I've narrowed my search down a lot, and I'm between Spikes, Armalite, and maybe Bushmaster. Any pro's, con's, or opinions? I'm in an approximately 800$ limit. I"m not opposed to building a gun either.

Search the site. Read the stickies. Save your money. Another $200-$250 will buy you a Colt.

Lots of people have asked the same question over and over. Use the ORANGE SEARCH BUTTON at the top and take some time reading.

None of those that you have mentioned are worth their asking price and then you will still need to do a few things.

Also, if you are on a budget then I suggest you buy a Glock or a shotgun. AR's are not cheap. In addition to the rifle you will need ammunition, magazines, sling, cleaning gear, etc...

If you want to plink then get a Ruger 10/22 or a S&W MP15-22.
