Gentlmen -

I have used the search function in a quest to find my answer, and alas- unless I have mis-phrased my search, then my Google-Fu is weak....

How do you go about marking the nuts/screws on sights, optics, Picatinny Rails- to ensure that they are tight, and have not loosened? I saw this while on active duty, and see it in the industrial sector? Do you use a paint pen? Some other special tool/marker??

Any help in this matter would be appreciated, I thank you in advance for your time.

Moderators - I put this in this Forum, because it receives the most "foot traffic?? Please feel free to relocate it to a more proper location if you need to.

I used the orange search button and the words "witness mark" and found the following threads that will probably be useful to you.

I used a can of tan/camo spray paint from walmart. Sprayed it onto some newspaper and dipped a toothpick (cutting a q-tip does the same) and dabbed it where I wanted the mark.

SteveL,

Thank you sir! I knew what I was looking for, and had a feeling that I wasn't phrasing the search term correctly. Thanks again for the help.

Respectfully,

Marc
