Quick FSB shave down question.

I'm shaving down the FSB on a gun without removing it so I can instal a Troy alpha rail. This hasn't been an issue other than removing the handguard cap. I've managed to rip off almost all of it so there's hardly any left, but I can't remove the rest without taking the FSB off, which I don't really want to do. Would there really be any issue with just leaving on what little of the cap is left?

I just got done with this not 20 minutes ago.

Go to home depot and get some red snips in the tool section.

It cuts the cap right off

Got it off. A little careful work with a dremel cut off wheel got the rest.

Anytime I swap a handguard for a FF rail I just dremel off the delta ring and front cap.

I use the snips to cut the cap at the gas tube.

The snap ring I just use a set of snap ring pliers.

The whole process takes about 5 minutes.
