I have a 8lb keg and loaded in the past for my M****4 with it. I don't see this powder discussed much. Any users out there and what are your loads for 55gr FMJBT? 3031?

IMR 4895 is still a very versatile rifle powder. I stock it for M1's, but it will work fine in .308, 30.30, 45-70, and .223, and many others, as well as my 30.06's. Better powders for each of those (other than the '06, for which it's perfect), probably, but the 4895 is a good one to stock up on.

I've used it in the past for 223 type loads IIRC. But being an extruded powder, it does not meter particularly well, so I have tended to ignore it. I have a small amount in my stash.

It's my go too powder for cast loads ! Especially for AR's . With my 55gr (62gr actual wt) Lyman load of 18.7 gr gives full function and accurate out 100 yards plus. :D Works well with 55gr FMJ's doesn't give top velocities as other powders will but is accurate.
