I'm looking at purchasing one, but LGS doesn't have them in stock to get a hands on impression of one. What size do you guys prefer?

I would go with Mod 4. I have run both the Mod 4 and 5.

I prefer the Mod4 for general use and the Mod3 for use under a mounted scope. I haven't tried the Mod5 because the Mod4 works just fine for me.

Ordering from BravoCo. or G&R gets you the newest revision.

X2.. I have the Mod 3 on my rifle length HBAR and it works well.. I have the Mod 4 on my carbines as they all started out with iron sights. They all have scopes now and the Mod 4 still works well.. I order direct from Bravo Co.. Ron

What "newest revision"? I wasn't aware there'd been any revisions at all.

Mod 4, it's the one I chose, it's a hair bigger than the standard tactical latch.

Mod. 4 is my preference.

Hey, I'm starting to see a trend here... ;)

Another vote for the Mod 4. It seems to be "just right" for regular use. Go larger if you have a dedicated scoped AR.

A anti-blowback feature (ridge).. IIRC.. Ron

I much prefer Mod 5 for general use, but am considering a Mod 4 for a scoped 20" I have that would normally never be slung.

I am going to order one very soon, how do we avoid getting the newest rendition? I know aesthetics are not very important, but I don't plan on running a suppressor & I dislike the new look.

I'd rather the original.

You order the newest revision, then trade me for my brand new, only mounted and dry cycled mod 4. ;-)

Problem is, I want a Mod 5.

mod 4 definitely!if you add a large scope then only use a mod 3 because it will tend to jab into your chest, etc. since it`s so large.

Mod 4 works perfectly for me with a scope

Mod 3 here, I have no issues with the larger handle. But before the BCM handles came into existence I ran badger latch on the standard CH sooo that may have something to do with it. Couldn't miss that thing if you tried.

Like the size of the mod 4 the best, just about right.

I am use to the PRI Gas-Buster and want a BCM Gunfighter similar in size. Which Mod 3 or Mod 4?

I have a Mod5 I'd trade ya, but its used (about 2k rounds with it)

FWIW, the mod 5 protrudes just about the same as the mod4, but the mod4 latch is wider and angled more.
Basically there pretty close in size.

Mod4 is about the same size as my PRI GB. I'm getting a Mod3 next to replace the Badger under a scope. Mod4 on 2 of my Aimpoint 16" ARs.
