I just got a new LaserMax UniMax (http://www.lasermax.com/)mounted on my Elzetta flashlight holder (http://www.Elzetta.com)rail and it works great! It is in the perfect location to hit the switch with my left index finger and it was very easy to sight in.

Anyone else have one of these mounted to an AR?

I have yet to play with any lasers but that is one compact laser sight. Any info on the weight and what kind of batteries it uses.

Any issues with it sliding back & forth? The one I have does not have a solid bar but only a screw. As a result it will NOT lock up in a channel.

Additionally, mine keeps shifting out of the setting I put it in.

The LaserMax weighs 2.8 oz (according to the package) and it takes #357 silver oxide watch batteries.

There is no bar for locking it into position on a pic rail but I tightened the screw onto the Elzetta rail and it won't budge (at least I can't move it by hand, I have not range tested it yet).

Thats a type O on the lasermax package the weight is 1.0 oz with the batteries included which are 357 batteries the screw will go all the way through to the other side of the unit to lock on to anything with a pic rail, all it needs is 1-3/4 of pic rail for maximum effect. Can be changed from a pulsed beam to a steady beam. Comes in Red ,Green and I.R. and SWIR

Have one mounted on a pistol and it works great. As you said, easy to sight in. Only put it on the AR to see how it looked.

SgtMaj, I've Google'd the item extensively, have you seen and/or have the link to any of the I.R. units?

For the unimax there are .7mw and a 3mw or regular and extra crispy, the beams can be changed from pulsed to steady. It can have the momentary cord added, same size as the unimax red only 1 oz Available for agency purchace and military PO only. Lasermax also does the guiderods in I.R. I figured for my first post to the M4Carbine forum that I could try to be as useful as possible. I, like SGTMAJ, also work for LaserMax. Currently we only sell the LMS-UNI-IR and IR+ to L.E. and MIL. If you are part of an agency or unit please contact us directly at 1-800-527-3703 and we will work something out with you. Sorry for any inconveniences that this may have caused you. At this time I would also like to say that if anyone has any questions that I can help out with feel free to throw them my way.

A sometimes overlooked feature of the Lasermax UNI housing is that it incorporates a PIC rail and you can effectively 'stack' another attachment on top of it as well.

As the OP stated, it a piece of cake to sight it in as well.
