I'm shooting a 20" 1/7 twist Bushmaster barreled upper built by PK Firearms. It has your standard A2 flash suppressor and front sight.

When I first started shooting it I was using a Rock River Arms NM carry handle as my rear sight and 62gr prvi partizan as my ammo. At 50yrds I was getting about 2-4" groups. I then added a Daniel Defense Omega free float hand guard and a Geissele SSA trigger and shrunk my goods to about 1" at 50yrds.

Regardless of the type of ammo I've used I can never hit paper at 100yrds. I'll check my sights at 50yrds and hit center of target but when I move my target out to 100yrds I don't hit anything.

I've also tried changing my sights to Troy folding BUIS as well as a Matech 600m BUIS.

The ammo I've used has been a mix of Lake City 55gr and 62gr, Brown Bear 55gr and 62gr, Prvi Partizan 62gr , PMC 62gr and Silver Bear 62gr. Everything with about the same results nothing ever printing on paper at 100yrds.

Before I get rid of this upper for a BCM or LaRue in 20", is there anything else you would try that I haven't already?

Think about trying a heavier grain bullet. I run 69-75 grain ammo out of my 1/7 with an 18" barrel.

None of the ammunition you've specified can be expected to group better than 1.5 MOA at 100 yards.

What type target are you using? Try a larger one to see where it is hitting?

Have you let anyone else try it?

Isn't the MATECH calibrated for a 14.5" M4 with 62 grain ammo?

This. How much windage do you have dialed away from center on your Rear Iron?

You need to ensure proper zero. You probably have a hard time zeroing if you are using the larger peep hole. Use good ammo, ammo is not the place to cheap out on.

Try placing your target on a large piece of cardboard, at least 2 feet by 2 feet. That might help you locate your shot group.

Today with the Matech 36 meters. In the past with the Troy and RRA 50 yards.

I moved it left 10 clicks at 36 meters.

HAHAH! It's suppose to be groups. :D

I shoot the same ammo through a Daniel Defense 16" mid length with groups on paper. Something about this 20" upper I'm having trouble with.

My target is is 2' x 2' with about 1.5' x 1.5' being a shoot and see target.

I had one other person shoot it once but not at a paper target. They had trouble seeing through the RRA NM sight.

I have no idea if the Matech is calibrated for 14.5" or what. I do know we use them on our issued M16A4s though.

Missing a 2ft x 2ft target is perplexing, especially if it isn't exhibiting any problems at 50 yds. Maybe try a spotter to see where the rounds are impacting at 100.

My only advice would be to shoot somewhere that you can use a dirt backstop behind your target at 100 and see if you can detect the impact on the backstop, if it isn't hitting your target. If you are zeroed at 50 meters, your point of impact shouldn't change more than a few inches between 50 and 200 meters. You should definately be able to hit a 2' target at 100.

The only thing that I can think of is a defective barrel. I don't know what customer service would say, but I would give that a try.
