I remember seeing a pic somewhere of a Magpul Ranger Plate modified so that there is a "dent" or sunken in place in the Ranger Plate where a retention cord from a mag pouch has a groove to fit into. This enables you to use Ranger Plates in these types of pouches.
Does anyone have any info on this mod?
Not sure what you are talking about. The pulls on Magpul Ranger Plates are soft rubber, the elastic shock cord from most pouches so equipped, just compresses the pull portion; no modification needed.

Ok. I've never played with the ranger plates and I always thought they were made out of hard plastic. Thanks.
If I am reading your post correctly, I think you may be referencing a mag-pod end plate.

If not that, are you talking about a Ranger Plate for a Pmag or a standard GI magazine?
My PMag and GI magazine Ranger plates look nearly identical minus how they attach to the magazine. There is a small oval-ish indentation on them for Magpul's text but nothing like a elastic cord slot.

TX, what I saw was a ranger plate with the cords of a mag pouch pulling the plate down which made it look like someone had melted the plastic of the plate to make it sag and make a groove so that the cord wouldn't slip off of the plate. I've never played with the ranger plates before and did not know that they are rubber. What I saw was the cord pulling the rubber of the plate down.
Thanks for the reply.
