View Full Version : Original Color or Painted Mags
I have a penchant for OD green on my AR. I'd like to run all OD P-Mags but am wondering if it would be cheaper to buy black ones on special and Duracoat them. Advice appreciated.
Black. Krylon Fusion, Alumahyde or similar on portions of the mag that extend below the mag well. Re-apply as necessary. Grab a solitary green one if you want a perfect match for photo ops.
I'm sure you'll appreciate all that OD is Magpul. :-)
Get the OD mags if you want...I typically find them for the same price as the Black. By the time you add paint and your time you coulda just bought the OD mags. That said, who cares what color they are. I have some OD mags for my OD AR's, however I also have some in other colors which get used as well. Long as they function I'm happy.

Cheapest I have found PMags anywhere, and they have OD 30 round mags in stock.

Great referral. Thx. Did not know about Exile. I'll add them to my list of "go to's". Don't really need the airbrush practice.
Another cheap source of mags is HamlundTactical.com

P-mags are $11.87 at Ineedmoregear.com . It is only a 12 cent difference, but still the cheapest I have seen.

Krylon is fine, just respray when needed.

And beat up paint looks high speed.
I paint the mags I use for hunting. Not that it really matters. Deer smell more than they see.
