I currently am reloading and I have been having issues with my starline and hornaday brass. Seat and crimp the bullet and some get a kink in the brass, I don't understand why. I have had this in the past and it was a lube issue...I know this not to be the problem this time around. Anyone have any ideas?

Had that with .45-70 years ago. If the crimp gets too tight before the bullet is completely seated, you'll have that. Either do them in two separate ops or adjust the seating depth so that the crimp is going into a cannelure or crimping groove.

I wrote up the .454 for ARMAS Magazine from Spain in about 1985. I called it "the gun that nobody borrowed twice"-- due to the tremendous recoil. It definitely ain't for beginners or sissies! As I got accustomed to it though I found I could do 50 rounds in a day. More than that and it wasn't fun any more.
