Carry Handle Question

I am currently running a Colt Carry handle on my carbine. I noticed recently that the rear sight base has a little play in it. Meaning, if you are viewing the carry handle from the top the sight base will pivot/rotate slightly clockwise and counter-clockwise.

Is this normal? Or is there something that should be tightened?

Yes, normal. The spring-loaded base keeps the aperture aligned consistently without needing to fix the sight solid to the handle. I've seen it documented somewhere if you want to verify this.
