View Full Version : SBR w/Switchblock
I'm working on a SBR build and will go with either a 10.5" or 12.5" Noveske barrel. The rifle is going to be shot both suppressed and unsuppressed.
If I go with a barrel with a Switchblock, will I be limited to a 7" rail or are there any other rails that would work (preferably a 9.5" rail). I'd like to go with a Daniel Defense rail. Also, is the Switchblock a must have or can I just go with a pinned gas block?
Also, between a SS and a Chrome Lined barrel...which type should I go with?

I have seen rails with cut outs for the SB that extend past the SB. Much like the cutout for the FSP on the DD RIS rail. So I know it is possible to get a longer rail, but I am not sure if those rails were modified to work with the SB or if the SB fits in the cutout for the RIS, but it is possible to get a longer rail.

As far as I know ONLY Noveske makes rails that have the SB cut integral to the rail.

You would need to buy a complete upper to get one.
You do not need a SB, but there are many advantages to having one

SS or Chrome...... you should do a search and read the MANY threads that can give you ALL the info you need that I could not do justice in one post.
Noveske rifles are fantastic...Good Luck
A 9.5" rail with cut out for a fixed front sight will work on the 12.5", but it will probably be too long with the 10.5" barrel.
