Hey guys, I have been shooting AKs sig 556 for a while now and finally jumped aboard....
A local private dealer told me he had a nice gun for around 900.00 bucks... Never really into AR rifles he tells me this is a SPECIAL one a collectors item, so I buy it and it has restricted law end, military, export only and LEO markings on the other side. What is different between mine and one of the newer 6920? The dealer said it was different from the newer ones but the only thing I see on the newer ones are a magpul stock and the markings are different.
I was thinking of selling it to get an HK p2000 SK. Is the value of this SPECIAL rifle any different than a new 6920?
If you had to sell one Sig 551A1 or 6920 to get the HK which would it be?

Thanks

No there is nothing special about it. They have been making that gun for the last decade. If the gun is clean and shoots well you paid a fair price for a used Colt.

The only difference between current production and yours is, Colt has stopped marking the gun with the LEO stamp for civilian sell. The LEO marketed guns are still in production and look just like yours.

I may be wrong but this is my understanding.

The current production LE6920s no longer have the "LE/Restricted" roll marks.

It came with the round hand guards but I put on a KAC RAS and LMT SOPMOD also 14.5 with battlecomp 1.5 it's where I would like it to be.
Maybe an aimpoint or acog.
True about the guns and Obama though...when he taxes the weapons and ammo it's going to get rough.

If it has a 14.5" barrel it is the model 6921.
Still, nothing really collectible about it.

Yeah figured... The guy was just pushing a sale. It shoots more accurate than my 556 and I like it but also need a good compact pistol. Thus the reason I may sell it... Just trying to figure out the overall value. Btw I added the RAS,SOPMOD, 14.5 and battlecomp.
