Hi guys,

I recently installed an ambidextrous single point sling adapter on my rifle and wanted some suggestions on a good single point sling to hook up to it.

I like the latest version of the Magpul single point which can be quickly changed to a two point.

I like the Gear Sector single point. With that sling point it looks like the HK hook adapter would work best.

I highly recommend Tactical Link slings. Best single points out there. Looks like you would need the version with a mash hook (much more desireable than a snap hook). I use their QD stealth sling mounted to a Noveske endplate.

Not big on single-points myself, but if I needed one I would check with the guys at 215Gear. They make quality gear and have great customer service.

+1

I have the Magpul MS3 sling. I couldn't make up my mind on whether or not to have a double point or single point sling, and this sling gives me both of them so I can switch between the two styles whenever I want and according to what the situation dictates.

Hi guys,

Take a look through the following thread, it's full of individual member testimonials of the slings they are using, and why they're using them.

In regards to single point slings, first ask yourself "why?" What is this sling going to do for you that a two point cannot?

Then realize the down sides of said sling. Short list:

1. Positive control must be maintained on the weapon at all times in order to keep it from covering ones own feet, neighbors feet and other body parts.

2. Gun is more likely to hit shooter in the knees/groin when left hanging.

3. Many of the attachment points for single point slings are known to "release" on their own (dumping said gun into the dirt).
