I put this 16" together with MI 15" rail. I liked it for target shooting but when actually carrying around at work it was just a little too heavy.
Pic with its little bro.

So is the small one legal?

I would sure hope so. I can't imagine someone having complete disregard for the law and posting incriminating evidence on this forum. Especially with the S/N being completely visible.

Very nice looking rifle. I really like the SBR even though I live in IL I can't own short barrel or silenced rifles or pistols. After doing your first build is there anything you regret or going to be changing now that you have shot the rifle?

The carbine rail gets heavy after standing on perimiters and moving around in vehicles is difficult. On the SBR, I wish i used a 10.5" barrel for ballistis reasons. I, may build an 8" 300 blackout upper though i wouldnt be able to use it at work.

How solid is the mounting on the MI handguard? Any flex with that length?
