This rifle came to be because I had entered into the NFA world, SBR'd the lower I currently had and got a MK18 upper from a member of the M4c community. My set-up at the time was a BCM 14.5 pinned BC..I had the need to run Surefire muzzle devices in order to mount the Surefire FA556-212 suppressor so rather then ruining the BC that was pinned on the 14.5 I sold it, bought a new stripped lower and a standard 16 inch upper and this rifle was born.

This rifles main purpose will be training.

here are the specs,

16 inch mid-length BCM upper, BCM BCG, and BCM gunfighter med latch charging handle.I chose BCM because of the stellar rep for being quality..

PSA Lower receiver, PSA lower parts kit, including MOE trigger guard, and pistol grip..But I think I may change to the BCM gunfighter grip, Because I like the angle of the MOE K but its kinda skinny, so the bulk of the BCM is appealing. Hopefully someone will have one at the Vickers class this weekend..PSA was used because previous experience with their lowers was good, and the trigger isnt that bad.

Magpul ACS-L because I wanted a little more cheek weld, have been using a CTR alot, and didnt want the battery tubes the STR offers

Springco Blue spring, H buffer, mil spec PSA buffer tube

Troy BUIS because I had them left over from another rifle

Aimpoint T-1, had an Eotech xps, but I have astigmatisim and the T1 is alot more durable I think and has superior battery life

NOVESKE NSR 13.5 I wanted to use this rail because I dont really need what a traditional quad rail offers, but require to reach out farther on the handguard then the mid MOE handguard allows.I had previously used a 13 inch VTAC alpha handguard, and this is lighter and offers modularity

HSP dropwing scout mount was used due to the fact that it gets the white light off of the handguard, and allows me to keep the same grip on the fore end of the rifle when shooting from the support side.

Surefire M300 was used because it will last along with the rifle, and if it craps out Surefire will take care of me, the light is powered on and of via the SR07 switch which allows the activation of the light with very slight movement and applied pressure from the thumb clamped over the bore
Surefire MB556 break, used to mount the can, and keep muzzle flip to a minimum

Is this PSA lower registered, or is it a different lower that you have in the process of getting registered? Kind of confusing but if you have an SBR, just curious why you would want to go 16 instead of shorter?????

I used a PSA lower on my brother's roomie's build and I am impressed. I do plan on snagging a few if they get back down in price for Black Friday, I regret not doing so last year. I currently have an SBRed lower so my next two builds are a 300BLK and a 14.5 middy. For the middy I plan on getting the build the way I like it and then once I've decided on rail and comp/brake I'll pin and weld it and through it on it's own lower.

Very nice looking build that you do have though.

^^^ I was wondering the same thing. If you SBR'd the lower, why did you sell the 14.5 just to get a 16? Or were you talking about a different lower. That wasn't clear in your post.

I'm sorry. It was a long day for me yesterday..This a different lower all together..I figured that it was cheap enough to just build up another lower especially with PSA selling a whole lower kit with the ACS-L for 149.So to clarify I have a complete registered mk18, and this complete 16 inch gun

I like it. Looks sharp. Please post a closer pic of your light mount.

How do you like the rail?

Now that I have had some range time with it, and shot it in a Vickers class, I love this thing, the rail is very slim line and locks up strong..I dont think that people need to worry about the upper and rail being pinned for anti-rotation... I just got that NSR panels today but so far the hand stop is great and effective for pulling the rifle in tight..Its quite strong as well, there isnt any flex on the handstop..Also it doesnt heat up that bad either..

Thx for the pics of the mount. That looks like a very lite upper. How do the panels mount? is there any play in them, side to side, etc.

No sir, they are solid, but it helps when you.actually put the locking panel at the end instead of the front like.I.did.

Nice looking rifle! The Haley strategic light mount looks nice on any gun! Also I really like the rail covers you added to the railing. Is that length a good fit for you or would you have put a smaller rail on the rifle?

This rail fits me perfect, im not that tall at 5'11..The rifle has almost 6k through it now, and I cant wait to get my stamp back for the can..Im also thinking of mounting a TA26 micro ACOG, This set up is near perfect for me, I have changed the ACS-L back to a CTR..
