Hey guys. I'm finally taking the plunge into the AR world. I have a PSA complete lower on the way. Ideally, I want a midlength, lightweight upper. A PSA upper is an obvious consideration, but is there anything else in the $500-600 range that should be a strong consideration?

Assuming you want a complete upper you will also need a BCG, Charging Handle, and Handguards.....all available for BCM as well.

Bingo.
How "complete" do you expect the upper to be while maintaining budget?

Complete as in hand guard, BCG, BUIS, charging handle - did I forget anything else?

Palmetto State definitely has something in your price range, however I would look hard for a deal and go with BCM.

I suggest you spend some time reading a little.

OP, in your price range it's hard to beat the above quoted option. My recent BCM LW middlength upper with BCG, Gunfighter CH and MOE handguard came to a little over $640.

Might as well go with BCM. You'll be paying a little more than you would with PSA but with BCM you can be 101% sure that it's of only the highest quality.

Per Grant's website: BCM LW middy, BCM BCG, standard mil-spec CH, Magpul MOE handguard, A2 flash hider, $621. Add the BUIS of your choice. It's what I have, except with a Vortex and Magpul BUIS. Love everything except I wish I had went ahead and sprung for the Gunfighter CH.

Spend a little more and get a BCM as others have said.

With the BCM no one will think twice about buying the upper if you ever decide to sell it.

Thanks to those who provided constructive input. I really appreciate it. Point well taken about BCM quality. I'll continue to give BCM serious consideration.

I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed with BCM. The QA/QC and care put into their stuff is 110%.

Agree with all of the above. If you save up a little more, then there are other options.
