As sad as it is to say, that's a reasonable price.

The XM193 in my closet cost half that.

You and me both!

I remember the booger eater from TOS who would buy XM193 in pallet quantities to burn through!

Wideners now has it for the same price in the new "tactical" box.

WOW!

I just looked at my order history at Wideners.

I bought IMI .223 for $3.50 per box of 20 in late 2005. What a difference a few years makes.

I bought 15,000 rounds from Bass Pro during a sale when it was $144/1K a few years ago. Still have some left:

Have you had any problems with 3131a?

I have a little of it stashed away. One of the so called "expert instructors" that used to post here claimed it was problematic ammo typical of what normally comes out of "that region" of the world.

I've always heard of (and experienced) problems with 3131... the USA produced ammo.

No problems, have shot about 20-25K over the last 5 years. Mostly full-auto.

That's what I thought. Either the A-hole in question has 3131 mistaken for the much better 3131a. Or it was just an anti Israel pot shot.

I can remember back in the day there were lots of shooters on TOS shooting lots of 3131a, and I never read a single complaint.

On a side not how is good is the brass from XM193? Aside from crimped primer pockets.

Good. It seems like you need to trim it sooner than commercial REM brass, for example. But it's good.

Thanks for the info. I have been using winchester brass and I noticed that a lot of them need trimming after they have been fired once, so I'm used to trimming.

Even though its a laborious process with my Lyman trimmer.

Winchester is by far the WORST in the trimming department. Now I don't mean to say that the brass is bad. But it sure is a pain in the ass to process.

I can easily get 3 loadings out of a REM commercial case without having to trim.

3 loadings thats not bad. I have ton of Win brass so I'm "stuck" with that.

Now we successfully hi-jacked this thread. :)

Hey! Having a ton of ANY KIND of brass is a nice problem to have these days!
