While not nearly as bad as the classic HK "backwards rounds" ad, it still caught my eye and gave me a WTF moment

This is a BCM REECE-16. I will say that in all of the pictures accompanying the actual article, the A2 is correctly oriented. Possibly two different rifles as the optics layout was different as well. Just shocked that this one made it to the cover without being caught.

Might be set up for "Gangsta" style technique :D

Maybe he has the FH setup like that because he is training to control muzzlerise:jester: I actually used to have an M&P 15-22 setup like that (an idea I got from one of Robb's posts) to simulate muzzle flip.

It's obvious that it's a trainer for stepping up to something chambered in 7.62mm. Training extensively with a recoil enhancer on the 5.56mm platform will prepare you for the AR-10 and you'll be running 2MOA groups @ 100 yards with FA dumps in no time. I'm pretty sure they mention that in the article.

At first I thought you were referring to the laser vertical grip..

I can't see that thing actually holding zero that well, and the laser looks way to offset from the barrel for any decent range work.
