Hey guys,

In light of all of these accuracy issues with M&P's I was wondering if anyone might have some input on this. I'm not sure if my M&P has the accuracy issue or not. I'll assume it does since I got it used from my favorite gun store for $400, and there's a very slight gap between the chamber and the barrel, perhaps about paper thin, but it's enough space for light to go through. But the gun is as accurate as I am at the distances I shoot it at - at 25 feet the rounds all go right into the x. July 4th I knocked a couple of milk jugs over at about 50 yards, firing about ten rounds total at them. I'm happy with it but I might get one of Grant's barrels anyways, I'd like a threaded barrel so may as well.

Anyways, in the top of the inside of the slide there are some divots. They appear to all be exactly the same size. Thought you guys might be able to make something of how this might affect the performance of the weapon. Even if it doesn't have any effect I thought you all might find it interesting anyways. I posted this elsewhere and all of the others with M&P's had these divots, but in different patterns.

Excuse the nasty room, I have a tiny college apartment.

I was told in the armorer's course that those dimples are their way of telling which machine made the slide. Apparnetly that helps if there is a problem with the slide or a series of slides that come off of that particular machine.

It does nothing to aid or detract from performance. If you look at other slides, they will more than likely have a different pattern.
