Who is stocking LMT MWS guns? [Archive]

I have only found a few online, and they're all asking $3300+. I was under the impression they were usually ~$2500. The LMT site says 20-24 weeks for backorders. Is there a shortage of them?

I picked one up a few weeks ago through a friend for 2600. Best price I had seen in awhile. I will find the company we used to buy them and post later tonight.

I bought mine from Kentucky Gun Co when they first came out at a great price.
While not currently in stock, they have them listed @ $2500 on their site.

OP, my LGS had both the LM8 and standard MWS as of Sun. Let me know if you need me to get pricing for you...

Kentucky Gun Co seems to be a good source, and though they are out of stock on the Chrome Lined versions, they do have the stainless in stock (all barrel lengths). These are standard versions and not the LM8. Pricing is $2499 for the CL and $3089 with the Stainless barrel and free shipping. That's a pretty good deal.

I just paid essentially the same price for my 18" stainless version out the door from a local dealer.

He had ordered it for me and it took about 15 weeks. I was initially quoted 12-14 so they seem to run true to their lead time.

They do seem to be somewhat scarce but are worth the wait. I think I'm gonna have to pick up an MRP now. :D

You can find a good deal on a low mileage MWS pretty often. Most will come with some extra goodies too.

I was in GT Distributors in Dallas last week and I am pretty sure they had a couple MWS's. They had one on the display wall for sure.

Got one of the 16" chrome lined MWS from Kentucky Gun Co about a month ago for $2299 shipped to my ffl. Looks like they are all out of stock now but they were great to deal with.

Regarding this election, I'm short on confidence as well.

But the comment is spot on. My buddy went looking for hardware and it's hard to find. You could try Clyde Armory.

I'm pretty sure that is below current dealer cost on the MWS. IIR there have been two price increases in the last 18 months or so...

Two months ago KGC had the cl for 2299 new in box. I bought mine then and have saved 700-1000 bucks off the average price now. I have posted this info on this site and snipershide as well. It pains me that you could not get a deal like that due to the upcoming elections.

I hate how any weapons related items and ammo get stupid in prices due to politics. I will search for you in the south to find a good to decent deal on the LMT MWS if you still want one.

Depending on where you are, Virginia Arms in Northern VA had one for less than $3k the last time I was in. I don't think they have much of a website though.

Thanks for all the input. I am still on the fence about the MWS. Part of me thinks I should get a 7.62 precision bolt gun for that money. It's basically a large carbine that throws heavy rounds without the precision that the round is capable of. I feel like it's in between worlds, straddling roles filled better by cheaper, dedicated weapons.

I might get a FAL for action stuff and a Rem 700 for precision.

The LMT MWS is very capable of using everything that the 7.62/.308 has to offer. Numerous owners on this site and at the hide can show you how well it shoots via targets and videos.

It's your money and you will get what you want but the MWS isn't a slouch. Me personally the MWS is a battle rifle that fills the DMR role.

Just to add, the brits agree, fielding it as their L129A1, so you're not alone in that thought.

If they do, Its price is probably up around $2700 by now. I got mine there at Vance outdoors used for $2. Couldn't be happier.
