This guy apparently shot the suspect with his .357 revolver from what he estimates was 165 yards. Cop couldn't get an angle on the bad guy, so the dude took care of business.

Wow, hit him and knocked him down. This might be evidence for all the .45ACP gurus who tell the tales of shots to the hand that knock the target down. :sarcastic:

What a Great American. And what a shot!

Who knows how many lives he saved that day.

Most excellent that a man helped prevent an officer from being murdered. I am so pleased he had both the courage to act, and the skill to do so.

OLD school justice! Expect the lamestream media to keep perfectly silent about it.

Funny you say that...

My buddy told me about this, and I had to search a fair bit just to find the story. You'd think coming to the aid of a police officer under fire would be more newsworthy...

Id be pretty nervous taking shots at a bad guy with a cop just rolling up on scene who doesn't know who's who.

Beware of the old Texan that owns only one gun. This guy is no FUDD, he even knew what kind of rifle the office was using. I went and fondled my GP100 4" .357 Magnum, after reading and watching this story. It gives my goose bumps when I hear stories like this. I feel like a dog getting his ear scratched. Awe hell, you get what I'm saying.

Great story, good on him! You won't see this in the mainstream media because it does not jive with the anti 2nd agenda.

This is the exact reason why people need to be armed.

Best outstanding news of this type all year, and from the news outlets, f--kin crickets.

That was my first thought too. Plus a handgun (let alone a revolver) versus a scoped rifle- at distance- seems to be a recipe for Doom.

Like CCW in bars, road rage with CCWers, CCWers shooting each other in response to a badguy- it all seems to work out almost everytime.

While the Aurora shooting was off the scale on difficulty, it is stories like this and that of Jeanne Assam in Colorado Springs that refute the arguements of the people that advocate hiding and waiting for the cops.

Damn, that guy must be one hell of a shot. He hit him 4 times!
